About this speaker
April is the founder of Keiki Kaukau, Hawai‘i’s Toy Company, which designs original toys, books, and games that celebrate the diverse cultures of our islands. Prior to launching the business out of her bedroom in 2019, April was a high school French and Math teacher at Punahou. She has a BA in Visual Studies from The University of Pennsylvania and an MA in English Teaching from Columbia University, and lived abroad in Paris and Shanghai before returning home to Honolulu. She is grateful that running her own small business has allowed for a flexible schedule and more time to raise her three children who are 7, 5, and 11 months.
